Although many people who I talk to have a love hate feeling toward Network Marketing I have found that some have formed negative opinions about the industry because it didn’t work for them. The reasons were many but the main theme to the negative feeling was that people were led to believe that they would be making money right away. That is rarely the case. Network Marketing, like any other business idea takes time to grow. The main difference from starting a traditional business, Network Marketing business is cost. Network Marketing is a whole lot cheaper and less risky to start and run.
Let me ask you a question…
When someone is pitching an opportunity to you (an opportunity that can generate you a lot of money) do you reckon they would give you the complete story? Or might they leave certain details out, details that may involve, sweat, effort and a lot of work. And of course why would they leave out these details? Well because creating a business that produces a great income takes some work. So to keep from losing sales they’ll typically avoid statements that may imply work with their opportunity. They don’t want to exclude the lazy and ignorant from their sales pitch. Thus be certain to learn what their business plan consists of before becoming involved.
The business of Network Marketing is becoming more popular as companies rush to downsize to become more competitive. Families are realizing that with so much uncertainty in the job market that they need a way to diversify their income without having to leave the home and family responsibilities to pursue an extra paycheck. A good company will have several training conference calls throughout the week, at no cost to you, to help train and educate members on the business and product and to answer any questions that members may have.
If you are thinking about starting your own home-based business and you are thinking about Network Marketing pick a company with a sponsor and a product that you like and can work with. That will be a big factor in your success or failure in your new business. The company should be a member of the Better Business Bureau and the Direct Selling Association. Membership in those organizations will give you peace of mind knowing the company is legitimate.
Once you have decided on a Network Marketing company you will need to work with your sponsor to learn all that you can about the business and product. You will be your own boss so you will need to schedule the time that you plan to work on building your business and stick to it. Ideally, you should expect to work at least between 8-10 hours per week building your business. The times can be scheduled at times convenient to you. In a Network Marketing business you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Help is just a phone call away.
